NADplus+ Complex includes the core ingredient NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a naturally occurring coenzyme (a catalyst for many enzymes) in human cells that plays a critical role in the mitochondria — the power plants of our cells. By regulating cell metabolism, NAD+ plays an important role in how cells age, through its unique role in producing ATP from the oxidation of fuel molecules.
NAD+ acts as an oxidation-reduction coenzyme because it contains the pyridine ring structure of the vitamin niacin, which accepts electrons when fuel molecules are oxidised. As a stabilised oral nutritional supplement, NAD+ supports healthy energy levels in tissues — cells with more fuel have more energy and function better.
NADplus+ Complex contains several amino acids and nutrients (alpha-lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine, L-glycine, L-carnosine and L-proline) involved in the second phase of liver detoxification. This biotransformation phase is important in clearing the many compounds produced within the body, as well as environmental toxins, whose load has grown in modern life. Other ingredients, like resveratrol, also serve as substrates for this phase.
