Our mushroom powder provides 30 small and mighty servings in our 1oz bag. We extract our mushrooms to be highly potent and bioavailable. Let’s break that down. Take Reishi, for example, which is a 16:1 extraction, meaning that every gram of Reishi in our mix is equivalent to 16 grams of unextracted Reishi 🤯 Extracting our mushrooms also makes them more bioavailable—meaning, it allows your body to actually be able to utilize all of its goodness.

What makes our blend so potent, anyway?

We are SO glad you asked (okay fine we planted this question, so we kind of asked ourselves). The truth is most mushroom blends out there aren’t super potent, which means it’s pretty hard to experience the true benefits of consuming these mushrooms. When people turn to functional mushrooms for supporting their well-being, they are often looking for mushrooms that support a healthy immune response. Enter: beta-glucans 👋 Beta-glucans, specifically Beta-(1,3)(1,6)-glucans, are a compound found in all functional mushrooms and have the largest impact on our immune system. Our product has been standardized to > 25%, which is the highest on the market. So while a serving is small, the impact is not.

Beta-huh? A glossary of potentially confusing mushroom terms:

🍄 Extracted: In addition to condensed strength (as we talked about earlier!), extraction allows your body to actually utilize the important properties of these wonderful mushrooms. If you grind up a whole mushroom (as, cough cough, many companies do) and toss it in a bag, you’re not accounting for... chitin. This pesky compound is found in the cell walls of mushrooms. Chitin is hard and indigestible and effectively locks up all the beneficial compounds we want, so when you extract the mushrooms, you can unlock all its prized properties. Huzzah!

🍄 Dual extracted: Some mushrooms in this blend benefit from dual extraction, meaning they are extracted in both water, which extracts beta-glucans, and in alcohol, which extracts things like adaptogenic triterpenoids. Instead of only extracting mushrooms in water, dual extraction makes sure we get all the beneficial compounds (because #fomo).

🍄 Beta-Glucans: Beta-glucans are complex compounds that have profound immunomodulating properties. While all mushrooms have their individual chemistry—cordyceps has cordicepin, reishi has triterpenoids, etc.—beta-glucans are in all medicinal mushrooms and are what account for the majority of mushrooms' impact on our immune system.

🍄 Fruiting bodies: Fruiting bodies is another name for mushrooms. What we harvest, what we eat, what we think of as mushrooms—this is the fruiting body. Mycelium on the other hand is the invisible below-ground network of fungal threads that produce these fruiting bodies. The fruiting body consistently demonstrates higher levels of beta-glucans and has been used for thousands of years (the use of mycelium is a much more recent phenomenon).
